  1. Welcome to the hardest but absolute best job on earth! You are going to LOVE it!

  2. That’s awesome! Congrats!

  3. Yay!

  4. Congrats!

  5. Wahoo! So excited for you!

  6. wwwwwwoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh!

  7. Congrats! I’m so happy for you and Anders! I’ve been a SAHM for almost 5 years now and it just keeps getting better and better.

  8. So this means more blogging, right? Whee!

  9. congrats. you followed your heart!

  10. Good for you. I’m sure it was a decision that was hard to make (pocketbook-wise) but easy (heart-wise).

I must confess that I’ve always been of the ‘why bother having a kid if you’re going to let someone else raise him?’ school. Having said that, half my friends did work full time and most of their kids are terrific adults. I guess I came to the conclusion, early in the game, that my heart wouldn’t allow me to work when my children were babies. It just hurt too much to leave them so well done, kid, and I’m sure the benefits of being with your boy will outweigh the financial loss.

  11. Congratulations. That is taking your life into your hands, isn’t it?!
Good for you, and good for Anders (and Hubby, too)!

  12. Gah.

This has nothing to do with your post, but I tried emailing you and it opened up some crazy email window that rudely demanded I set up a .mac account, or something. But, that’s not the point here.

What IS, the point however, is that I was wondering whether you could tell me what program-hosting-thingie you use to create your blog, because I recently got my own domain name, and aside from other bloggers, I have no idea who to ask about this.

    Much appreciated,

    Luisa.

  13. Congrats! I hope it’s everything you want and more. I bet your nanny is sad though; who wouldn’t be after getting to spend time with that cutie of yours?

  14. I am thrilled for many reasons, but one tiny one is because you will NOW HAVE TIME TO POST! And that makes me happy. I am totally selfish in my happiness for you.

  15. Woo Hoo! Congratulations. I hope you feel great with your decision and enjoy every minute you spend with Anders.

  16. Congrats on your BIG decision… I’m sure you’ll love your new job! It suits you quite well already! Incidentally I hope you’re feeling better, and hope the babe didn’t catch it!

  17. Congrats! Welcome to the club. It’s a lot of work – but remember that even though you are staying home to raise your child you always come first. A happy, healthy mom can do her job better.

  18. Oh my gosh! Congratulations!!!

  27. Yay! Congrats! Do you have to put in a sucky two weeks like I do?

Woo-hoo! Please tell me you burned some bridges.

  32. Congrats! How exciting for you and Anders.

  33. Wow! What a big decision and one you won’t regret. Anders won’t either. :-)

  34. Filtering Life says:

Sweet sassy molassy. Seriously, that is so great Sarah. It is really really weird at first, you keep thinking it is going to end and the old life will come back but then you get used to it. I absolutely love being home with Chloe. Maybe it’s because we can stay in our PJ’s till 2:00 or boycott showers or watch movies whenever we want…but I mostly think it is because I can’t take my eyes off of her and I feel so blessed to have this time with her. Enjoy…Anders is so lucky to have you home.

  35. congratulations! my husband and i decided i would stay home when i got pregnant (i’m due any minute…yipes!). it’s a hard decision to make, but, ultimately, the sacrifices we will have to make giving up my salary are small compared to the thought that i can raise our baby myself. it just didn’t make sense to miss out on this time with my baby and since it was doable (albeit, with some lifestyle changes) we figured we had to do it this way. i look forward to more blogging from a fellow stay-at-home mom!
