7. This post by Rebecca on cutting sugar (especially for little ones) is so enlightening and helpful. A must-read for parents of highly-spirited kiddos.

Happy weekend!

Re: the Time piece and some of the pieces you have been writing lately and also Rebecca’s piece on sugar. I have been thinking about all this. Our parents generation did not have all the issues we seem to have and I think this is just down to the fact that they did not eat so much processed food. Most of their meals would have been made from scratch with real ingredients.

I do worry that we can get obsessed about faddy diets like Paleo and such but I think that their basis is correct. Take real ingredients and cook them.

I also am slightly hypocritical as I eat a dairy free diet due to stomach issues but my point is more real food less processed.

PS Happy to see that you are feeling better and hope it continues.

  2. In love with TIME’s cover. I swapped my vegan lifestyle for that of a traditional food/real food lifestyle about 4 yrs ago. And feel so much butter than when I was eating all raw veggies. I regularly consume bone broth, butter, liver, raw milk, fermented goodies, and grassfed meats from Wallace Farms (they have a pick up 1hr away from us!) I am writing all this bc I really want to read TIME’S full article. It appears you have to have a subscription to read it all! bummer. Any chance a much loved blogger could paste it in her blog?

  3. When I first saw the image, I thought, so cute, that looks like whoorlita! And then I read down and figure it must be her with that water color app. So cute!

  5. I love love love the article on sugar. I have been trying to cut sugar. I am full blown sugar addict. I have a 6 month old son and I do not want him to have this problem, but cutting sugar is so hard for me. My husband is also a sugar addict so that does not help. I ate incredibly healthy (a limited amount of sugar) when I was pregnant because I wanted him to have his best start–the motivation to eat healthy went away once he was here! :) I have a lot of GI issues and am really hoping cutting sugar will help. Love your posts!

  6. Thank you for linking to my post. Also I LOVE YOU. A lot. Sending you every bit of solidarity in the war on sugar and dietary restrictions! xo, sister.
