If you haven’t noticed, it’s pumpkin season. I swear, I walked into Trader Joe’s the other day and it was like entering a pumkpin festival. Pumpkin brownies! Pumpkin puree! PUMPKIN PRODUCT MANIA.
I made some treats the other day and had a little pumpkin puree left over so I decided to make this mask. The coolest thing? Pumpkin pairs beautifully with my main beauty secret and multi-tasker, honey. Honey and pumpkin are like VBFFs when it comes to body treatments, and we all know that honey is a natural humectant with antimicrobial properties so it attracts and retains moisture which can keep skin hydrated and glowing. Hey, if my skin can continue to look hydrated and glowing throughout the entire winter season, I’m a happy girl.
Here are the deets.
3-4 Tablespoons ground oats
1 Tablespoon milk or heavy cream
2 Tablespoons crushed pineapple
3/4 cup pumpkin puree, canned or fresh
1/2 cup honey
Mix ground oats and milk or cream in a bowl or mixer. Add crushed pineapple and pumpkin, draining excess water out of fresh pumpkin by squeezing it in a paper towel. Thoroughly blend the ingredients. While stirring, slowly drizzle in the honey, mixing well. Refrigerate in air tight container for 10-14 days.
HOW TO USE
Apply liberally with fingertips to face and neck area. Leave mask on for 8-10 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
