Today marks a very sad day for my husband.
I noticed a lovely addition to a new piece of art in our living room this morning.
Need a close up?
Black crayon. You can pay your respects to D in the comments.
(I think it’s pretty funny, but let’s just keep that between you and me.)

Oh my goodness! At least it was black crayon. Sort of goes with the color scheme.
Carrie’s last blog post..I’m a little confused…(a plea for votes!)
gasp! was there no glass on the frame to protect the painting, or are we talking a worst-case-crayon-on-canvas-scenario? yikes.

Crayon ON canvas. Holy schizz.
Maybe you can approach it like, “he’s destined to be an artist!”??

Artists and their visions. You can’t get between them.

HAAAAAAA. And AHHHHHHHH!
I neglected to mention that the painting is one of D’s personal creations. Double shot to the heart!!
At least he chose a coordinating color. Reminds me of when my daughter “colored” our fridge with her metal barrette. You can’t get between an artist and his or her work!

OH
MY

P.S. Have D read this:

P.P.S. “That Night” continues on to several other nights and several pieces of furniture.

Uh oh…. and yes, I laughed too, but only because it’s something my 2 year old has done to me.
I’m having heart palpatations right now just THINKING about it. Not enough Xanax in the WORLD.
Oh, no.
I think D might need a vodka on the rocks tonight.

I would think it no small victory that it is D’s artwork – that way, the piece is collaborative… organic… tension between order and disorder… youth and control… really, this is perfect. (You can rename it “perspective,” since it’s all in how you look at it…)
I bet none of this helps a bit.

Uh oh! Wito is destined to be an artist with all his crayon artwork!

Gasp. Maybe now you can say it’s even more original? Or, a family collaboration? Or something? Oh, dear.

Do I need to remind you about George Washington and the cherry tree?
My son scratched his name into the front side panel of my husband’s black car. He thought he was doing something nice by showing us how he could write his name.
hands down the funniest thing i have seen this week-i must, i mean i can’t wait to pass it along…….
This is known as an OGN at our house-
Oh God, NO.
I paint. Many moons ago, one of my children made a Zorro-esque slash of blue-green crayon across a nearly completed work. I couldn’t bear to toss out the piece but to look at it made me mourn for what used to be.
How hard it is when the tiny vandal is someone you love dearly. My sympathies.
OMG… uh… I would have crapped my pants, too. And moved all black crayons, pencils, pens to the 4 ft or higher level shelves.
There are places that can repair that kind of additional artwork.

I think it looks like it’s a signature – “To D. Your friend – Mondrian” We had a similar incident with an American Girl Doll and a Sharpie…shudder.
Ohh no. That made my heart go into my stomach.
Steph
I guess i should just be thankful that my daughter is still more interested in eating her crayons that drawing with them

Oh dear Lord. I suppose there’s no having Wito paint over it himself…

I am with RA. Perhaps Wito is just trying to have some artistic collaboration with his Dad? He does seem pretty advanced for his age… :)

Aaaaayyyyy! Does the Magic Eraser work on art? ;)
D – from a fellow designer I feel your pain. Tonight I will have a moment of silence for the loss of your art piece.
After the long pensive…two thoughts emerge:
1. Dramatic, uncomfortable, perhaps important, but certainly a great canvas of tension created by the merger of “D” Mondrian and Wito Miro.
or.
2. Wito, little-known art critic, bravely steps outside the rules of critique.
da bishop
ummm
As other’s have said, the color scheme matches…. Tell D to look at it as a father-son collaboration – just in time for father’s day.
Bless W’s little heart!!

Before we painted, we had a wall that looked like that. My daughter would toddle by it and say nonchalantly, “I did that. I bad.”
oh it’s so post modernistic. fabulous dah-ling. tell your interior decorator his taste in artists…impeccable.
