The Perfect Wooden Jewelry Organizer

wood-jewelry-organizer

Up until a week ago, my jewelry routine went a little something like this.

1. Choose a necklace from a grouping of necklaces hanging from a nail in my closet wall.

2. Try to coax said necklace from the nail without pulling off at least 2 other necklaces in the process.

3. Fail miserably. At least one necklace drops behind a chest of drawers. CURSE THE GODS.

4. Spend a moderate amount of time searching for rogue necklace underneath the chest with my iPhone flashlight.

5. CURSE THE GODS.

6. Look for a pair of simple studs atop chest of drawers.

7. Only locate one earring of the pair.

8. CURSE THE GODS.

Enter the best $50 spent in my life. This wooden jewelry armoire. You guys, I want to cry tears of joy. Every necklace gets its own hook! No tangling! You can stick earring posts into the corkboard! It’s amazing! Unbelievable! My jewelry has never been so happy and freeeeeee! I’M SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS, CAN YOU TELL?

And! It looks pretty hanging on my closet wall, as you can see. Simple, unfussy, perfect. Do you need this? You might just need this…unless you have a fabulous jewelry storage method already, which I’m forcing you to share with us in the comments.

That is a very cool way to organize jewelry. I have a combination of two jewelry boxes, one standing organizer and a small earring stand, and they are all a jumbled mess. I really need to pare it all down and organize everything. I think I only wear about 30% of what I own.

This is beautiful. I just sorted through all of my jewelry this weekend, getting rid of everything I never wear except for a few prices I saved for my daughters to play dress up. Now I need to find a nice way to store what I have left- mainly rings and stud earrings. I’m thinking a nice box with little compartments so I can keep everything separated. The stuff I wear daily goes in a small glass bowl in the bathroom.

I have a really nice jewelry box, but the same problem with things getting tangled up. The solution for me is not all that pretty, but works so perfectly. I save all the little baggies that extra buttons come in and use them for necklaces and earrings. Also makes it really easy to transport when I travel or to the gym.

Not to hijack, but how are you hanging your hats? I love hats but I would be far more likely to wear them if I could see them and they weren’t all getting smushed!

I have been looking for something like this for ages!! Finally! Thank you so much for sharing this. I love the classic, sort of minimalist look. I got a little silly one night and bought a whole bunch of stuff from www,whowooden.com, Its all been sitting on my dresser but I’m going to grab one of these immediately!
