Odds and Ends

be

1. Daughter tells her mother she hates her. Mother does this. Pretty epic.

2. This makes me so happy. DANCE, PEEPS.

3. Things looking pretty grim? You’re bound to feel better after watching one (or many) of these.

4. Tom Hanks does Tom Hanks.

5. This is so terrifying. Sadly, I don’t think teens are the only ones distracted.

6. Shifting gears, I was hoping to add a pair of white jeans to my capsule, but am having the worst luck. I’ve tried these, these, these, these, and these. (I know, right? Citizens of Humanity is usually my go-to for jeans – I know the fit, I love the way they look, but it’s just not happening with the white jeans. So tight on my calves, people!) Have you had any luck? Should I just give up the dream? One more pair is on the way, but I’m not holding my breath.

7. Kids are pretty much just tiny drunk adults, right?

Happy weekend!

That dance video is the best! Great links this week! I had been on a hunt for white jeans for the last two or three years and I just bought these and I love them: https://www.shopbop.com/mid-rise-rail-jeans-j/vp/v=1/845524441961116.htm. I don’t think they are the same ones as the J Brand you tried from Nordstrom, but I don’t know. I love the mid-rise and the cut of the legs and they are not very sheer! Just wanted to share, good luck with the Madewell ones. I was going to try those if the J Brand ones I ordered hadn’t worked.

I am not sure if they are making them this year, but I got the white Madewell boyjean last year and it’s super cute. It’s still pretty slim fitting through the thighs, just a little looser in the calves and looks good cuffed. I like madewell high riser jeans too though so the ones you ordered may work!

Sadly, the Paige back pockets look weird on me. :(

I have two pairs of white jeans from AG — a skinny cropped and a boyfriend — and love them both!

I like Kut from the Kloth jeans and have them in white from last year. Maybe that’s an option – I usually buy them at Nordstrom.

I love that mom’s approach to her daughter’s “I hate you!” I’m going to remember that for when my kids do it, if they do.

Tiny drunk adults – hilarious! Thanks for the laugh today.

You and I seem to have very similar body types- I purchased your JCrew Origami dress that was tailored in the waist and it fit perfectly. My go-to jeans are from White House Black Market. http://www.whitehouseblackmarket.com/store/product/saint-honore-white-skimmer-jean/570136447?color=100&catId=cat210023&fromSearch=true&scPos=1-1392-3278

They stretch so size down- I usually wear a size 2, but buy a jeans size 0. White jeans are an essential part of my capsule- hope you find a great pair!!

I’m so picky about back pockets on my bubble butt, and I can tell that those are too high and too close together. :( Thanks for the rec, though!

I just bought the relaxed skinnies in white from LOFT. I really liked the way they fit. I understand if you’re looking for a higher quality pair. I wasn’t ready to make a long term commitment to white jeans so I went for a less expensive pair. http://www.loft.com/relaxed-skinny-jeans-in-white-/353336?colorExplode=false&skuId=18356977&catid=catl000015&productPageType=fullPriceProducts&defaultColor=9000

I have had great success with LOFT jeans lately. I used to buy Citizens of Humanity and Joe’s Jeans all the time and now I only buy from LOFT on a 50% sale … they are the best deal around. This is especially true with white jeans that end up being ruined no matter how well you (or maybe just me) try to care for them. And I really don’t see any difference in quality, but maybe the extra cash in my wallet has rose colored my glasses.

I read about Topshop’s Moto white jeans on Le Catch once and bought a pair and it turns out they are, in fact, pretty great. This coming from someone who has also tried on every white jean under the sun and thinks they almost all look awful.
