A 6-Year-Old’s Dream Schedule
The apple does not fall far from the tree, as Wito has developed quite an interest in two things, planning and writing. He journals all the livelong day – furiously scribbling while biting the whole of his bottom lip. In fact, when we have a disagreement, it’s not uncommon for him to run to his room, grab a pen and paper, write down his retort, and hand deliver it me.
Writing is wonderful, but the propensity to write AND plan leads to one very, very wonderful thing, and that would be list-making.
It seems Wito is a Maker of Lists, just like his mama. (I can’t deny – it warms my heart, indeed.) His lists cover a wide range of subjects, but the one he presented to me on Sunday morning was quite a gem. It was his schedule for the day, you see.
I don’t even know where to begin with this one.
How about starting the day with “Cash 9:00?” I mean, everyone pretty much starts their Sunday morning with some cold, hard cash, right? And it sure comes in handy when you’re heading out to the Lego Store an hour and half before it opens. Lunch seems to be right on time, followed with a mere 4 HOURS of screen time. Oh yes, and a visit to the sugary Shake Shack after 4 hours of staring at a screen AND before dinner is the perfect idea.
I do appreciate that he remembered to bathe and brush his teeth, though.
