So You Think You Can Dance – Wito Style

We know that I love American Idol. (What did you all think of Erika’s departure this week? Man, that’s rough- chop all your hair off, dye it black and what do you get in return? VOTED OFF. Thanks A LOT, Tommy Hilfiger.)

However, one of things I love most about American Idol is the knowledge that the next season of So You Think You Can Dance must be right around corner. Oh, I love SYTCD. I’ve written about it several times so I’m not going to bore you, but  I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Tears on a weekly basis, people. The love. Of the dance. (Also, do you know who the spokesperson for Pantene Aqua Light in the UK is? Cat Deeley. We’re like besties if, you know, “besties” means we’ve never met and I just watch her on television like the rest of the world.)

Okay. So, guess who else loves SYTCD? Mr. Wito Man. He will watch an entire episode with me without squirming, and I’ve noticed him trying to reenact some moves now and again. His favorite style (judging by his attentiveness) is contemporary (atta boy), and he’s all about the leaping. Especially flying leaps that land in some sort of full-body rolling release on the floor.

I had the pleasure of witnessing some of Wito’s choreographed stylings at a recent wedding. You guys, this is what I would call a…well, let’s just call it a beat boy/contemporary mashup. Please enjoy.

Go, Wito! This makes me want to have children RIGHT NOW. But only if they can dance like that.

I’m sure your bebes will bust a serious move…they’ll have Luke and Susie as their choreographed guides!

Holy crap Sarah, why is there no audible laughing on that video? I would not be able to watch it and keep a straight face. Maybe that’s why all my videos stay on my computer and not on the internet — my laughing ruins it? I love it. Thank you for sharing!
And we too love SYTYCD — I love the contemporary dancers so much!

Rich and I were just discussing the fact that SYTYCD and Big Brother are about to return. Aww… long evenings with cocktails while we cry about the emotional content of their tortured dancing, listening to the easy mellifluous wordsmithing from “Buck” Little C and while hoping and praying we all get to ride the “hot tamale’ train with Mary Murphy sipping those cocktails.

OMG. First of all, I’m sitting at my desk, crying from laughing. Second, he does that excited little hand wave thing he did in the baby videos (awww!) and third, what is it with boys this age all of a sudden break-dancing?! My little cousin-nephews, 5 & 2, broke out into a semi Chippendale’s dance which ended in break-dancing…IN THE WINDOW OF H&M! Seriously, they were throwing off their hats & hoddies with such conviction and purpose. Their mom was shopping and I was too busy recording on my iPhone to stop them. So fearless at that age!

Haha. I love it! It reminds me when he was little(r) and dancing at that park to the drum beats! It’s such a pleasure watching your cute kids grow!

I love it! =) Dance classes for this kiddo? I could see him becoming an all natural like some of the dancers without training on SYTYCD at this point though!
