How to Apply Cream, Liquid, and Powder Blush

I’m leaving for Palm Springs in a couple of hours. How did this happen? I feel like I just got back from my last trip to the desert yesterday!

Super excited to see my family and celebrate Thanksgiving by the pool. I’ve also packed my video camera in hopes that my sister will film with me. I’m thinking a 2011 beauty and hair favorites video? I’m not sure how Lala feels about videos, but you all would welcome her with open arms, right? Right? (Please tell her to do it, if only to witness her gorgeous hair on video. Seriously, it’s ridiculous.)

In the meantime, here’s a video I filmed for Style United on how to properly apply different types of blush. I’m all about creating the perfectly flushed cheek during the holidays, and this video should (hopefully!) help anyone wondering about powder, cream, and liquid blushes.

Some of my favorite blushes are:

POWDER:

Nars Desire
Nars Orgasm
Chanel Fuchsia Tweed (Worn in the video)
Chanel Tempting Beige
Benefit Sugarbomb
Benefit Coralista

CREAM:

Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Promise (Worn in the video)
Tarte The Perfect Pink
Tarte Tickled
Tarte Ten

LIQUID:

Sonia Kashuk Peony (Worn in the video)
Pixi Sheer Gel in Natural

Must pack immediately. Have a happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

You’re super good at this! Agree with the poster above – are you allowed to tell us which brands you’re using in this tutorial. Also would love to know what lip you’re wearing!

Thanks, Jenny! The powder blush was Chanel Tweed in Fuschia (I think it was limited edition from last year), cream blusher was Illamasqua Promise, and the two liquid blushes were Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel in Natural and Sonia Kashuk Super Sheer Liquid Tint Blush in Poppy.

Also, I think I was wearing Kiehl’s lip gloss in French Rose. :)

I JUST started using blush (Nars “Orgasm”0 and while I have all the right brushes, I did not have the right technique. THANK YOU.

I now also know how to tie a scarf and braid my hair. Go figure!

    Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy Palm Springs!

So fun! I’m just getting back into blushes, so this was fun to watch.

The liquid blush segment brought me right back to the (early? late?) 90s when I started buying expensive (read: mall) makeup. It was a gel formula, a cheek stain by Origins. There is nothing like the first time you buy makeup at the mall, right? Saved me from a lifetime of too-cool concealers and baby pink blushes. :)
