Five Jeans for Fall

These are the five pairs of jeans that are lining my closet this season.

1. J. Crew Matchstick in Overdyed Black Denim – Not too skinny, not too straight…the perfect style to last several seasons.

2. J. Crew Matchstick in Classic Rinse Wash – Repeat what I said above. (Remember, I like to buy in “bulk.”)

3. Madewell Widelegger Jeans in Explorer Wash – I wrote about them here. Love the trouser silhouette, and the fabric is insanely soft.

4. J Brand 811 Mid-Rise Skinny in Bright Red – My very favorite jean right now. Paired with simple ballet flats, a boatneck tee, and an arm full of gold bangles. Can’t go wrong!

5. Gap Lightweight Always Skinny Jeans – This is an amazing combination of fit and feel. It’s like the feel of yoga pants, but the structure of denim. You know the kind of jeans that you wear, but can’t wait to take off when you get home? These are NOT those type of jeans. So incredibly comfortable…I could wear them out and about or around the house all day long.

What jeans are you wearing this fall?

BEST PANTS EVER! I picked these up for full price a year ago and wore them non stop all winter. Found them on clearance at the beginning of summer and scooped up two more pairs for this winter. Now I have a pair for flats and one for heels.

We can’t wear denim to work, but I can rock these without a raised eyebrow. Plus, they are as comfy as leggings, but as structured as skinny jeans. LOVE!!!!

I am just curious what you pair the black denim with. I also have a pair of black ones, and I’m really not quite sure what to do with them! I work in an office, and I can wear jeans some days, but I’m just not sure how I feel about black. (I thought they were dark blue when I ordered them off Ebay).

Jen, I wear black denim with just about anything I would wear with regular denim! Black goes with almost everything!

Love all of these! I will keep them in mind. Right now I am 29 weeks pregnant and drooling over all of the Fall clothes I can’t wear.

I am in search of some jeans as we speak. I hate finding jeans. I’m shorter and don’t have skinny legs by any means but know that skinny jeans are in. What do you suggest for someone who isn’t sure if they can rock the skinny jeans…..I’m sure I’m not the only person who thinks this, right?

I didn’t want the other moms at the school pickup to be jealous of my awesome style and beauty (we’re practically TWINS, whoorl, except for the hair, skin, clothing and face) so my look is sweatpants and a fleece. Because fabrics made out of plastic bottles never go out of style.

One vote for the Gap always skinny jeans! I think they’re so surprisingly comfortable. Now you have me wanting the JCrews…

Skinny jeans make me hyperventilate! Jeans that touch my calves do the same. I’m terrified that I’ll look all hippy with skinny/calve touching pants. I’ve recently dropped a boatload of weight and stood in the store bawling because I can’t find jeans I love. I did find a pair of trouser jeans that I love but that’s where it ended.

Your style is flawless and slightly enviable. Maybe I’ll just wear yoga pants for the rest of forever and live vicariously through those who rock the above fantastic styles!

So it’s funny because we’re cousins and currently are wearing 4 of the 5 same jeans. I have/love all but the madewells. Also love jcrew toothpicks.

@Louise, could you wear stretchy skinny jeans earlier in the pregnancy? i’m 17 weeks and have been living in mine. i have been super inspired by Aura’s cute fall maternity styles here (2nd and 3rd trimesters):

How are the fits on these—true to size, runs small, big, etc.? I ask because I wear one size in DKNY skinny jeans, another in Ann Taylor pants, yet another in JCrew pants, and so on. It’s maddening. I tend to stick with skinny jeans b/c I have a bigger top and smaller bottom, but those Madewells are super cute.

Amanda, I think they all run pretty true to size – I wear a 27 in all of them.

Want those J.Crew jeans baaaaad! I have the Gap Always Skinny jeans and unfortunately am really disappointed. I heard they stretch so I purposely bought them a bit small and it didn’t help. After wearing them for an hour they are so stretched out that I can pull them on and off without unbuttoning them and the back droops so it looks like my butt is in the middle of my legs. I need jeans I won’t be pulling up all day and I still haven’t found them.

Super cute jeans. I just picked up my first pair of J. Crew jeans this weekend, the Matchstick. I love them! Like all my jeans, I had to get them hemmed, but I think I’ll be living in them this fall/winter.

It just depresses me so much I can’t get J Crew in the UK. I love those first two pairs!

Great choices, if I could only afford them. How do folks afford 98$ jeans?! Not on the regular-old-stay-at-home-mom’s budget, I guess. Poor me.
