Gorgeous Gray

The hilarious and quite lovely Alice of Finslippy fame recently decided to give her monthly coloring treatments the heave-ho and embrace her natural silver gray.

Alice had been coloring her hair auburn for many years.

Which was a great color, but the constant upkeep was not so great. So, she started to grow.

And grow.

Until the artificial color was gone and the silver gray reigned supreme.

Totally gorgeous, right?

Yep. Gorgeous. I can only hope my shade of gray will be half that beautiful. Bravo, Alice!

I am considering no longer coloring my hair. Due to a hormonal imbalance, my hair is super thin right now. I don’t want to distress it any further by treating it with harsh chemicals. Alice’s hair is lovely. I’m not sure if mine will look so great. I guess we will see.

    Yes! Love it.

I was watching 60 Minutes (With my grandparents, what?) a few weeks ago and there was a woman with lovely long grey hair and I could not stop ogling it.

And could her cut be any more flattering?! What a strikingly gorgeous woman!

She looks stunning—it’s so pretty, particularly with her eye color.

Me, my hair is LOOOOOONG, darker than Alice’s, and I fear I will never know when it’s time to embrace the gray. And even once it is, what do I do then? Cut it all off? Ask my stylist to actually dye it gray? What’s the protocol, anyone know? I’m about 50% gray right now and not ready. At all. I am convinced I will just look scary.

I have long hair and I’m in the process of growing out my color now and embracing my silver streaks which are now about 3 inches long. Once they reached an inch, they started to look weird, because they’re right at my temples.

I settled on using the Clairol root touch up kit. I just mix a tiny amount of the chemicals, not the whole tube and just cover the grays with my natural brown. It washes out in about 3 weeks and I get to see how long the streaks are now. My intention is to stop with the Clairol once they reach about 6 inches and look like actual streaks instead of just like “I missed my coloring appointment” patches of gray.

Not only is she hilarious, she is cover-of-the-magazine gorgeous.

I can only hope I rock gray with the same elegance.

Lovely! I started going gray when I was 15 (I’m 30), which was no big deal because my mom was not one of those moms who objected to me coloring my hair, which I had been doing already for a couple years.

I have this nifty Colleen Williams-ish streak going on at my right temple and I tried letting it grow out last year, but it’s not substantial enough yet to quit coloring. I’m hoping it will fill out more in a few years.

The GRAY is a pretty color but come on now lets get serious how much older does she look now? last time I checked older wasn’t what everybody was rushing to get ahold of. Plus her hair looks soft, not too many choices without the body that the color would have given her

Bobbi Brown once said “Your hair is your number one accessory.”

Yes, she’s gorgeous… However, going grey aged her 10-20 years don’t you think? I encourage people to go blonde, or blend the grey, with highlights. But full blown grey can age the crap out of someone.

    Again, beautiful face!!
