Meet Shuchita.

shu_before

Shuchita’s hair:

Blackish-brown color with a lot of greys
Coloring for the past two years
Thick, slightly wavy
Prefers to keep the length
Wears ponytails all the time to get hair off face

From Shuchita’s email:

I’m a 30 year old living in Singapore. It’s been more than a year since my last hair cut/trim and I’m totally confused on what to do with it… I work in the software division of a bank so I can’t have it looking unkempt. I’d like to keep it long because I had short hair growing up and was almost always mistaken to be a boy… I’ve had bang-like strands in the front that were supposed to be sideswept, but I hate getting hair on my face and don’t have the patience to blow dry them…

Let me start off by saying that Shuchita has extremely beautiful hair. It’s thick and dark and lush and generally fantastic. Here’s the problem, though. Her hair length is just swallowing her whole. She has such a petite face and frame that her hair is completely taking over, and frankly, her ponytails aren’t doing her any justice.

Now, I am completely sympathetic to her concerns about length, given her issues with being called a boy as a child, but in my honest opinion, Shuchita needs to go shorter. Never fear, though! I am going to pick options that are completely feminine and in the medium length range. Let’s take a look at the options.

Option #1 – Camilla Belle’s sleek, rolled-under bob would look great on Shuchita. It wouldn’t overwhelm her face, she wouldn’t have to deal with bangs or hair on her face, and it would be a great look for her career. The length is completely feminine and would complement her petite frame.

Option #2 -The curvy volume in Penelope Cruz’s look gives great shape without looking weighed down. This cut would still leave length (1-2 inches below the collarbone would be good), but the long layers in front would give movement to Shuchita’s slightly wavy hair.

No matter what she picks, if anyone thinks she looks like a boy, they clearly must be idiots. Now it’s your turn. Tell Shuchita which look you prefer!

I think Shuchita is beautiful! I chose #2 because if I could get my hair to do waves like her there’s no way I’d blow dry it straight.

what lovely hair she has! and totally agreed, it’s just overhwelming a tad. i voted for the bob – with her thick and wavy hair, this would look stunning on her.

plus – it would be work appropriate and easy to manage.

can’t wait to see the result!

    Thank you Sarah !!!

And thanks to everyone for all the compliments coming my way :-D

I’m not working at the bank anymore, so I guess I could go for a more ‘unkempt’ look ?!?
I do like option #2… let’s see what the polls (and family) say :-)

I say number 2! Love that. Number one is cute too but looks like it needs more time to do.

I would go for the second variant. I like Penelope and her hairstyle will suit beautiful to Shuchita.
