hair thursday makeover 40

Welcome to this week’s Hair Thursday, straight from my deathbed! (Also, who says Alka Seltzer Plus Nighttime Cold Medicine is just for night?! Why am I seeing double? Where’s my toddler?)

I think it’s best for you and I if I keep most of my thoughts/hallucinations to myself this week.

Here is cute Jodi!

Jodi’s hair:

Red/auburn with blond highlights
Chemically-processed, a little dry
Medium texture and thick
Prefers shorter styles
Spends 15-30 minutes styling
Uses flat iron
Uses Brocato max hold hairspray and Rough Paste by Redken, sometimes Aveda Volumizer

I like Jodi’s hair! Don’t you think it’s cute? I can’t really tell what it looks like on the sides and back, but I like how it’s texturized and the highlights look nice with her skin.

However, something (the cold medicine?) is telling me that Jodi would look great with shorter hair. Maybe the same layering on top, but taking the sides and back up.

Something like Option #1. (BTW, this photo is from a CUTE HT participant on the waiting list. Why she’s wanting to change her darling hair, I DO NOT KNOW.)

(Cute seems to be the operative word this week, yes?)

Jodi’s hair is already very similar on the top and in the front, so she would only be taking the bulk off the sides and back.

OR Jodi could keep the length and REALLY texturize the hell out of it, for a super modern look like Option #2.

(OMG, a gray piece of matter just emerged from my lungs.)

Tell Jodi what you think!

Both looks would be great, but the shorter one is my favorite.

This is so weird but that first photo, is that Nicole? Nicole, you hung out on the SAHM board at BBC didn’t you? OMG. This is the equivalent of recognizing someone you have seen before but don’t really know, at the grocery store or something, when you used to “know” them years ago in another state or something. WEIRD!!

I SO don’t want to freak you out or anything! But I saw that pic and thought…”hmmmm…what actress is that? She looks SO familiar. Cute hair!”

Oh, and ummm…..yes, Jodi has very cute hair too, and I love it just the way it is, but she could also go a little shorter it seems!

As soon as I saw Jodi I thought immediately that she would look super cute with shorter hair.

I can say with some authority that Option #1 changes her hair all.the.time. She’s brave like that.

    And it always looks cute.

For Jodi, I voted for #1 I PROMISE without bias…

Forget the hair… can you get the details on Jodi’s ADORABLE glasses?

(Just kidding about forgetting the hair… I vote Option 1!!)

I LOVE option #1 and think it would look GREAT on Jodi. It also looks great on the person in the photo! But I bet if Jodi cut hers that length she would not have to spend so much time on it — always a plus.

Seriously, I’m with Painting Chef on this one. Jodi, where did you get those glasses? I WANT. They are adorable!

That said, I picked option #2 because I fear Option #1 would really age Jodi. My mom has a round face, with a shape much like Jodi’s, and I can’t tell you how much OLDER she looks when she cuts it above the ears.

The minute she grows it out to a “behind the ear tuckable” length, it really softens her face and makes her look younger. Ergo, my vote for Option #2.

I vote for option 1 – which is super cute and with a round face is very flattering. Who is that super model #1?

I was thinking of submitting photos but now I’m just gonna use option 1 for myself, so cute!

Jodi’s hair always looks so awesome on a day-to-day basis. I’d try Option #1 for a while and it can always grow out if it doesn’t look right, what have you got to lose.

I, personally, would go for number one, only because thats me in the picture! She would look really great with a shorter in back style.

Jodi, if you decide to go for number one, I have a few pictures of me from the side. Let me know and good luck!

Nicole (the semi-famous HT option #1)
