Sucks donkey balls.
Yes, it does. Fortunately, it’s temporary. Eventually, the night waking from the pain will go away. Probably to be replaced with a different reason for nigh waking, if your boy is anything like mine.
I hear you. My son is getting all 4 I-teeth at the same time. Lovely.
We just popped one through and the gums and drool indicate that more are soon to follow. Hylands teething tablets and frozen washcloths helped during the day and we used Motrin as needed in the evening. If his pain seems pretty bad I’d give him a dose at bedtime rather than wait for him to wake-up. Then your stuck with a very unahappy toddler until the Motrin kicks in–not a lot of fun at 2:00 a.m.
oh yes. those molars are horrible and we were “lucky” when it came to our son’s coming through. we had two days of no sleep and constant whining. thin frozen teethers did help. he also enjoyed biting his parents fingers, but, um, we didnt want to feel his pain in a literal sense. so, after those two days were over, all four magically peaked out and continued to emerge so forth with out many dosages of tylenol or fist shaking.
good luck and find the closest 24 hour starbucks (do such things really exist???) for the bad nights.
Definitely the motrin before bed. We never needed it during the day, but always at night. And decide on your approach now because we had similar issues for the incisors (or maybe my kid’s weird in getting his incisors last?). Good luck!
I lied. On the really bad days, we also motrin’d before naps so as to avoid the screaming wake-ups halfway through :)
My daughter cut her first 2 teeth at four months, so I know.
Try homeopathic teething tablets.
Poor thing. We used Tempra if we had to, but neither kid had it too badly.
On the other side, now that the older one is sprouting adult teeth – honkin’ chompers like his parents – looks like orthodontics are in our future.
Which also sucks donkey balls.
I don’t think I realized how lucky we are that Em hasn’t batted an eyelash over any teeth coming in. Whew. Hang in there.
Yes, I hear you we are in the same boat here. On and off eating….waking up only an hour into a nap crying. Unfortunately, the taste of Motrin makes him gag and Tylenol only works okay (I really hate giving him anything which is funny since I used to be a pharm rep). I don’t find that the teething tablets help at all…You are not alone!
Yes, yes and yes. Former pharma rep. Hate the drugs. (Although, Motrin has really helped before bedtime.) Teething tablets might as well be a placebo.
That is so funny. I just sent my friend an email an hour ago that said “Teething sucks giant hairy donkey spheres!”
I have a 5 mth old. This is going to be a long year.
