I’m writing a Whoorlito Update! Remember those? I was thinking this morning about how it had been a couple of months since the last one.
And then I checked my archives. This was the last one I wrote.
8 months ago.
More than half of his life has blown past since that update.
We have a lot to catch up on, yes?
In the meantime, remind me of more toys from the days of yore.

I LOVE the 70’s and 80’s toys we had as kids (well, us old fogies born before 1980). Here are a few that I recall, that weren’t mentioned in the comments on your other post…

October 28, 2007 at 5:57 pmOne of my favorites was my Dancerina doll, which did pirouettes if you pulled her crown top.
And in the spirit of four-year-olds everywhere playing with the packing material, I used the long, rectangular box as a lectern — so I could pretend I was making speeches.
(My poor, poor parents.)

I loved this toy called “Rolling Bowling” and wish I could find it; it was made by Tony, if anyone has any leads.
My daughter now plays with my vintage Strawberry Shortcake dolls. When she gets them out, the smells take me back (and not always in good ways).

I also LOVED ShrinkyDinks! What happened to those things? I wish they were still as popular as they used to be. Perhaps I will bring them back… Because I have the power to do that kind of thing. I know. I’m just that wonderful.
In other news… I got my hair cut again and it is even more like the HairThursday winner than ever and I LOVE it! Thanks, Whoorl!

October 29, 2007 at 10:37 amI am a brand new reader (just read through the Hair Thursdays, love it) and I just have to say how adorable that baby is. I also just have to say that my daughter at 19 months today weighs 24 lbs! That is one good sized (and beautiful) baby you’ve got there!
