2T

I’ve wanted to post a video of Wito playing with his very favorite toy, the nasal aspirator. Over the past 9 months, we’ve spent approximately 1.9 million dollars on ball-popping, squeaky-singing, colorful toys and all he cares about is licking and chewing the snot sucker. It’s simultaneously endearing and fully disgusting.

However, I’m holding out for two reasons. First of all, he is not wearing any pants AGAIN in the video and frankly, there have to be some people wondering if I ever dress my child from the waist down. And the answer is, no. Not really. Secondly, the whole aspirator-thingy looks remotely phallic and I can’t bring myself to publish the video knowing there are some sicko turdbags out there that would possibly derive pleasure from watching such a thing. What can I say? I watch Dateline.

Back to the pants situation. I do put pants on my child when we make our public appearances, but the minute we return home, the pants are whisked off in a manner of seconds. Have you seen my child’s thighs? Witnessed his Dunlap’s Disease? The kid needs room to breathe. He is barely 9 months old and wearing clothing made for 2 year olds. It physically hurts me to see his belly exploding over the top of his pants when he’s stuck sitting in the car seat or stroller. My only other option would be to buy pants made for three year olds, but I’m pretty sure that would require hemming. Lots of hemming. See figure one.

However, please direct your attention to Wito: Yoga Master.

Namaste.

What a gorgeous little chunkers. Love him!

p.s. Flea has the opposite problem: 99th %ile for height, 50th for weight. If it’s long enough to fit her lengthwise, it’s too loose around the waist. Hence her pants are all “capris” and she looks neglected. :-\

Winterwheat- what is up with the sizing these days?! Wito is 95% percentile for height and pants are still soooooo long on him. They must cut girls and boys clothes completely different. Boo.

    Gorgeous, perfect child!

The thighs are absolutely the thighs my brother had as a child and now he’s easily the fittest member of the family. So not fair. I had reasonable thighs as a baby and now they’re just out of control. Boys are lucky that way.

As for the snot sucker, my nephew Kyle used to love to chew on the turkey baster bulb when he was little little. And he’d hum at the same time. It was quite cute. Mwmmmm, mwmmmm, mwmmmmmmm, mwmmmm, mwmmmm.

Ooh, those thighs! Delicious! (In a totally non-pervy way! Eww. So glad I don’t watch Dateline.)

Also, I am pretty sure 3T is exactly the same as 2T, just longer.

I am just sad that he has undoubtedly outgrown his Tupac shirt. WTF do you feed that baby??!

Oh my god. Those legs. Awesome! He keeps trying and trying to balance on them and that’s just not happening. Great video!

Also, I think Annika is right. I also heard the only difference with 2T and 3T is length. Apparently the belly rolls even out over time.

I love this footage! Paige is doing to exact same thing right now. It’s so funny to me, because Makenna never did these yoga moves. It amazes me how every child is so different.

My experience here in chickville tells me that 3Ts are definitely longer, but tend to be a little wider through the middle, at least in girl sizes. I have no idea if there’s a different between girls’ and boys’ sizing.

You had me worried there with the Dunlap’s. Sometimes, I am an idiot.

I loooove those thighs. My son had those and they were delicious! I was so excited for my daughter to get them and they never came. Gobble them up while you can!

Nice form, Wito! You’ll be standing (and walking and running and playing soccer) in no time!

Okay, the yoga is hilarious. And I hear you on the “chubby baby is hard to fit” issue. My Emily’s pants are frequently too long and yet still too snug around the (adorable, kissable) belly.

Watch out, Momma. He’ll be running SOON! Then the thighs will be gone, and we’ll all be so sad :)

We had a naked baby around here too! J was in size 2 around the same time as Wito. The worst part is that the larger the pants get the slimmer the bum area because at a certain point they don’t make room for the diapers anymore. So I was trying to squeeze my 2 year old into size 4 with a huge cuff. Thank goodness at 2.5 he toilet trained so we had room again. For summertime he spend a lot of time in the one peice shorts/romper type outfits. much more comfy in the waist.

Wito’s thighs are still to die for.
